The automated shiphandling assessment engine provides real-time assessment of how well a conning officer is driving a Navy ship along two main dimensions: maintaining safety margins, and use of rudder, propulsion and tugs (if applicable). The evolutions covered include: (1) Mooring to a pier, (2) Underway Replenishment at sea, (3) Getting underway from a pier, and (4) Harbor transit.
